New Work

Over the last month I have been working very hard, and I’ve got a few new pieces to show. First is a new portrait that I have shot:

These mark a bit of a change in my stylistic direction, moving to a more dramatic feel with the lighting and the treatment.

Next is an image from a new personal project:

Lately I’ve been thinking about family portraiture, and from there I started exploring the kinds of portraits rich families have painted, which I find either incredibly boring or somewhat creepy. I wanted to explore the creepiness, and I wondered why family photographs don’t give me that same feeling. And I wanted to poke a bit of fun in those who like this kind of ostentatious portraiture. This image was great fun to make and I’m planning to do a full series of images for this project. Stay tuned!
